Public Health
Employees, customers and partners are the heart of the nation’s pork industry.

We Prioritize Public Health
We are committed to producing the highest quality food possible while increasing the enjoyment of pork and the health and well-being of people around the world.1
Goal
We are committed to supporting public health through the well-being of the pigs and the environment under our care using best practices.
Targets
- Percentage of pigs reported produced at a location where there is documented veterinary oversight of animal health.
- Percentage of pigs reported produced from farms that have documented compliance with the proper use of medications.
Progress
Veterinarians are essential in maintaining healthy pigs and ensuring a safe food supply.
Recognizing this, pork producers are dedicating resources to document veterinary oversight and proper medication use. They are committed to transparency and sharing this information with the food industry supply chain and consumers.

Public Health + UN SDGs
Our commitment to public health aligns with three of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in ways that resonate with our values. We seek to exceed their benchmarks where possible and reimagine solutions where we believe they fall short or overreach.
By setting and exceeding our own high standards, we aim to lead by example and foster meaningful change.
