To ensure best practices in key areas such as food safety, animal care and environmental stewardship, pork producers comply with applicable federal, state and local regulations. The industry has gone further, however, by instituting education and training programs to consistently advocate for ethical practices in all areas of pork production.
For more than 20 years, pork producers and production employees all across our nation have taken part in these best practices programs because they believe that its just the right thing to do. Two programs that best demonstrate producer commitment to best practices are Pork Quality Assurance® Plus (PQA Plus®) and Transport Quality Assurance®.
